What Is Of Counsel?

While shopping for an attorney you may have noticed the term "of counsel" and wondered what it means. Attorneys who are "of counsel" to one another are not members of the same firm. They are attorneys who are committed to working together and sharing thoughts and ideas, not necessarily on any given case, but in general. In this regard, their affiliation is looser than that of a traditional firm, but their affiliation may provides many of the benefits of a firm relationship and some which a firm relationship can rarely give such as the abilitiy to provide a presence in different parts of the state or even the world.

Mark Stevens, Suzanne Schuelke, and Stuart Friedman have agreed to share their thoughts and energies on many projects and have agreed to make themselves available to assist the other attorney. While it is entirely possible that they may assist on your case, you should understand that hiring one attorney is not a commitment by any of the others.
